A Gila Woodpecker looks for things to eat in the early morning. Gila Woodpeckers nest in cavities they carve out in the saguaro, but they prefer the cavity to have hardened walls so they won't nest in a fresh hole. But many other birds will take advantage of the nesting cavities, including House Sparrows, Cactus Wrens, and Starlings.
