A Great Horned Owl watches from its perch at Whitewater Draw, a wildlife area run by the state of Arizona. I first learned about Whitewater Draw at the Wings Over Wilcox bird festival in January. A few hundred Sandhill Cranes can be found here in the ponds in the afternoon. But in the trees on the other side of the area, there are often owls. I've seen Barn Owls as well as this Great-Horned Owl.
