I lugged a tripod and about 25 pounds of gear up Piestewa Peak hoping to find something interesting, and I did. White-Winged Doves are very common in Phoenix in the neighborhoods and are not very interesting in that setting. But it turns out they are native to areas that have Saguaro cactus, as I discovered this day. They pierce the fruit of the Saguaro and eat what's inside.
