An American Kestrel perches on a tree planted by the Friends of the Tualatin River Refuge volunteers. Every year, the volunteers work for hundreds of hours planting trees, tending previously planted trees, weeding, mowing, and many other tasks to help make the refuge a better place for wildlife like this Kestrel. Kestrels are colorful, smaller members of the falcon family of birds.
