Trees on the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge reflect in an iced-over pond. Clear days in Oregon are rare, unless a push of arctic air comes down from Canada past the Cascades and out to the coast. When that happens it gets very cold and ponds like this one freeze overnight, but the high pressure keeps the fog and clouds at bay. Eventually, a front from the Pacific will push its way back in and there'll be gray rainy days again.
