A Curve-Billed Thrasher perches atop a cholla cactus. The wild-eyed Curve-Billed Thrasher makes a loud whistling sound. If you whistle back at them, you can sometimes carry on a "conversation." San Pedro House is a good place to start exploring the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area. There are several bird feeders and hummingbird feeders, big trees, and a river nearby. You can park here and start your hike on one of the many trails. I like to be at the house by sunrise to catch photos like this one.
