A solitary Tree Swallow perched on a gate chain. At the beginning of the swallow season, I spent hours trying to predict where a swallow might be in mid flight so that I could hopefully capture one, because they never seemed to rest! All I was able to get were out-of-focus blurs. I thought I'd have to invest in some camera triggers to capture one of these guys! But later in the season, they seemed less frenetic, and on days like this I was able to get within several feet like I did here.
